Lips and Tongue Ties Treatment for Babies

If your child has lip ties or tongue ties, they must be treated immediately for the following reasons:

 

  • A lip tie occurs when your baby's frenulum (the tissue behind their upper lip) is too thick or too stiff, making it difficult for them to move their lip freely
  • A tongue tie occurs when your baby's lingual frenulum is too short, too tight, or positioned too close to the tip of their tongue, leading to difficulties with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and even speech development

  • Nitrous Oxide Sedation (a.k.a. “laughing gas”) is a mild form of sedation to help your child relax
  • It is inhaled and administered through a fruit-scented device that sits gently on top of the child’s nose
  • Gas is continuously inhaled for the duration of treatment to help calm your child's nerves
  • Once done, your child is placed on pure oxygen to rid of any Nitrous Oxide in the system

Space Maintainer for Children
